The marginal players get mailings with an offer of a free room during the week that really doesn't exist, but they hope you will pay the discounted rate because their mailing worked by giving you 'casino fever'. No free drinks at this casino for players. Bottom line is that the gaming industry isn't what it used to be. There job is to bring in the folks that will wager, and hopefully lose, a ton of money. Unless you are the top tier (Seven Stars at Cherokee, assume the same in Murphy), the powers that be could absolutely care less. They put in those lower levels to keep the 99% of their customers spending trying to get to the next reward level in hopes that the world of free everything will open up. To the person upset about not being congratulated by a casino host upon getting to Platinum status. You can place exactly the same bets, over the same amount of time, and the rewards points will vary wildly. At table games you are sort of at their mercy. And slots are better at tracking the points than table games. If you are waiting for the rewards points to build up to get a free room, or a meal, you better be prepared to lose a whole lot more money than if you had just paid for it out of your own pocket.
